Declaraciones dadas por el Presidente Carlos Alvarado a AmeliaRueda.com<\/h1>\n
\u00bfQu\u00e9 se puede dar por entendido con la respuesta del Presidente Carlos Alvarado Quesada<\/span><\/a> Casa Presidencial Costa Rica<\/span><\/a> con respecto a la conservaci\u00f3n de los tiburones?<\/div>\n
1. Piensa que se debe apoyar la propuesta de ley en Asamblea Legislativa para modificar la Ley de Conservaci\u00f3n de Vida Silvestre (LCVS) para que los tiburones en peligro de extinci\u00f3n se protejan por la Ley de Conservaci\u00f3n de Vida Silvestre.<\/div>\n
2. Cree que la ampliaci\u00f3n de la protecci\u00f3n alrededor de la Isla del Coco favorecer\u00e1 la protecci\u00f3n del tibur\u00f3n martillo.<\/div>\n
Dos cosas muy buenas si duda, pero entonces vienen otras preguntas:<\/div>\n
1. Si cree que la LCVS debe proteger a las especies de tibur\u00f3n en peligro de extinci\u00f3n, entonces\u2026\u00bfpor qu\u00e9 firm\u00f3 el Decreto 42842 el pasado 18 de febrero que despoj\u00f3 al Ministerio de Ambiente y Energ\u00eda<\/span><\/a> MINAE de su autoridad para proteger a los tiburones mediante la LCVS?<\/div>\n
2. \u00bfSe ampliar\u00e1 la pol\u00edtica de protecci\u00f3n estricta en las aguas alrededor del Parque Nacional Isla del Coco, o se permitir\u00e1 la pesca \u201cregulada\u201d seg\u00fan las necesidades y demandas de la industria pesquera?<\/div>\n
Como ver\u00e1n costarricenses, la respuesta del Presidente contradice su acciones. Primero, firm\u00f3 un decreto que no es congruente con su declaraci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, a\u00fan ni siquiera existe una propuesta oficial para ampliar la protecci\u00f3n de la Isla del Coco, ni de que tipo de protecci\u00f3n se tratar\u00e1. Lo \u00fanico que queda clar\u00edsimo es que no le importa ignorar el criterio cient\u00edfico de los funcionarios del MINAE a cargo de la conservaci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad y el cumplimiento con las convenciones internacionales.
